Part 2: Science Instruction aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards.
In 2013 the state of Washington adopted the NGSS as our state standards and our Tahoma curriculum materials are aligned to these standards.
The standards are much more than a list of content to be covered at each grade level, but are designed to “ enable teachers to offer all students interactive science instruction that promotes analysis and interpretation of data, critical thinking, problem solving, and connections across science disciplines with a high set of expectations” nextgenscience.org
All participants will read the Fact Sheet for the NGSS and then select from the appropriate grade band for the second document.
