Welcome to the Student Self Assessment Module for Tahoma School District teachers!

Module Description
In this module, participants will understand the research behind and the impact of student self-assessment. Participants will learn how to teach students to accurately self-assess and implement plans for student self-assessment with quick assessment ideas, response tasks, and using a quiz, test, or rubric. Participants will learn through key readings, practice self-assessment with their students, receive feedback from a coach, and evaluate their practice and reflect on next steps.

Learning Target: I can plan and implement ways for students to engage in self assessment.

Read & Watch:
As you read the chapter on Student Self Assessment and watch the video, consider how you will incorporate student self assessment into lessons and units.
Respond: What are your initial thoughts, comments, and or ideas based on both the reading and the video? Share student self assessment strategies you could implement in your classroom. Post your response below.

Practice in classroom
Create: A plan for implementing Student Self Assessment that incorporates one to two strategies you’ve taken from these sources.
Practice: Put your plan in action!
Respond: Report back to your coach. How did it go?
Have a coach come in to observe and give feedback.
Talk with your building coach to confirm a date and time for her to come in and see your student self assessment in action!
